Fan? Mail:

I enjoy getting mail from you guys, I really do.
I reply to most emails in a courteous and friendly manner (like some below). Others, not so much (like some below). I guess that's the risk you take when you email a political cartoonist.

I hope not, because by the time you read this I'll already have handed it in :p Hope i'm not stealing beer from your mouth anyway. Hi *******,

I am interested in using your November 11, Remember and be Thankful cartoon for a remembrance day service at my school. Is there a cost for this cartoon?

Andy

J83.com > Hello Andy.
I allow my cartoons to be used for free by nonprofit organizations.
If you are making money from this event that is a
different story. I'm guessing that you are not "for a remembrance day service at my school" so yes, feel free to use it.
Perhaps if you could have the website address on there though that would be great.

It also makes me happy that a cartoon of mine is being used in a constructive, positive way.
Do you want a higher resolution copy of that cartoon?
ie. are you using it on an overhead or powerpoint? On the web it's 72dpi and may look pixilated if enlarged...I'm not sure.
When do you need it by? I'm thinking or redoing the cartoon for this remembrance day.
Good luck with the service.
A******

comments: i really like your cartoons! they're cool! i don't like the one about the red states, though.
i just went to the north dakota, and republicans can be really nice people. they don't all agree with the war. another thing, evangelicals have been the scapegoats of anti-bush propaganda. many evangelicals, like me, don't like bush. and if you want to insult bush-voters, you can insult practicing jews, latinos and conservative blacks if you really want to be representative.
other than that, right on, it's all cool!
let's just hope the States has a moderate candidates next presidential election.
yours, a "crazy" evangelical latino, who happens to be Canadian.

J83.com > Thanks but i have no idea what cartoon you're talking about.

.....................................................................

DAMN!!! you're a little bi*ch about it man!! Maybe people just want to print it to show it off to a friend?? And there you are getting all snotty saying that you need the money for an alcohol binge. And then that last line!! " Besides, these are only at 72 dpi so if you try and print them they'll look like garbage." Shit!! That's rather cold hearted of you!! I hope someone takes your stupid cartoon and makes it bigger and then photo shops it or something to make it look perfect again. HA!!!!!

Hi *******,

Where do you live? How up to speed are you on BC politics?

I'm helping put together a low-budget web site that will report on BC's upcoming provincial election. We'll publish from late March thru late May.

We're potentially interested in developing a relationship with someone who would lampoon BC politics with cartoons.

Monte

J83.com > "low-budget " oh baby do I like the sound of that! I'm your man. Give me a call collect tonight and we can talk about it for three hours.

Hello,

Your "Natalee" cartoon has created some speculation in the blogging world.

Some are thinking that perhaps you have ties to Aruba and may have been trying to convey some inside information.

I realize you have no reason to respond, but I'm wondering if there's anything you can tell me about your motivation for publishing the cartoon or the background for some of the imagery you chose? The shallow grave, in particular?

Thanks!

Rhonda J.

J83.com > Get back on the meds honey. It's a cartoon.
I did it after watching about 5 minutes of CNN and filling in the blanks with my IMAGINATION. It's more than a little scarry that you and the rest of the idiots on that board filled 40+ pages with your speculation on the cartoon. Who I knew, when I was there, etc. There were a couple of people who used their common sense and got it. The rest of you really need a hobby or to take up alcoholism.

Your cartoons are very good, presumably because we appear to have similar attitudes towards many issues.

If you are interested, I would really like to see either of the following cartoons:

Stephen Harper on all fours with a collar and leash being led by George W. Bush. (the lap-dog)
Stephen Harper lap dancing George W. Bush. (the lap-dancer)

These are both my ideas, but I claim no ownership to either -- you are free to claim them as your own. I just would appreciate seeing them drawn and distributed.

Thanks,
Roy Jensen
